Compared to independent shops and dealerships, mobile auto repair is less expensive and a better deal. On average you can expect a 30-50% discount below shops and dealerships. However, a few small services (like replacing an air filter or changing oil) may cost you more than local shops since we need to justify the cost of traveling to you. If you value your time, the convenience and ease of us coming to you will justify spending a little more than local shops on those services. At ProMobile we have found that 80% of the most common repairs on vehicles today can be done on site by our mobile mechanics. This spells convenience, same day service and time saved which equals to money in your pocket!
We are open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
We are convenient, time saving and affordable. All of our mobile mechanics are professional and experienced. We come to you anywhere within our Houston / College Station service areas to bring you the best mobile auto repair service in town. You will deal directly with your mechanic and not a salesperson. We come well equipped with all of the technical information and tools to get the job done right, quickly and efficiently. We perform the same functions as a brick and mortar shop with a few exceptions. Then we back it up with a 12 month 12,000 warranty.
We bring our services to you. We have an office that we use to dispatch our mobile mechanics all over Houston but we do not maintain a storefront. In this way, we keep our operating costs low so our customers get the best prices possible. We are not in the parts business. We sell service.
Yes. There is a charge for us to come out and diagnose your vehicle. The fee covers the time and costs associated with getting to you as well as the diagnostic service. The diagnostic fee will vary from location to location, but the average is about 1 hour of labor.
We go through a step by step process to rule out or confirm any part(s) failures. Diagnosing your vehicle is a process that requires a knowledgeable and skilled individual if you want it done right. The time it takes varies from one vehicle to the next. We will diagnose your vehicle and provide you with the recommended repairs based on our visual inspection and/or tests performed.
If the circumstances allow it we will apply all, a portion or none of a service call/diagnostic fee to your repair. Diagnostic fees are separate from repair fees and are not typically waived.
There is a difference between not cranking (no sound when you turn the key) and not starting. If you can hear the engine turning over you may have an issue with fuel, spark, compression, timing or a computer control problem. If you hear a single click or a series of clicks or nothing at all when you turn the key you may have a battery problem or a starter circuit problem. Sometimes you can eliminate the probability of the battery being bad, low or needing a charge by turning on your headlights, radio and operating your electric windows all at the same time. If your vehicle will do this then you probably have an issue with your starting circuit and not the battery.
If your engine does not crank at all or cranks very slowly. If you cannot turn on the headlights, interior lights or radio, then your vehicle doesn't have enough accessory power. If the lights (dashboard/headlamps/interior) do come on but appear dim, then the battery may not be completely dead.. but probably won't have enough power to crank the engine fast enough for it to start and run. On the other hand, if you do have full accessory power, but the engine will not crank, then there could be other electrical problems such as a bad ignition switch, a failed starter/starter solenoid, or a bad connection somewhere in the ignition system. These more advanced issues should be properly diagnosed by a professional mechanic.
The alternator supplies electricity to the car battery when the engine is running; this allows the battery to power the vehicle's electrical components while recharging itself. The car relies on the alternator, because without it the battery will have a very short life. When the alternator is going out, the electrical components may lose power while idling for a while. If the battery dies frequently, or not charging while the car runs, it's probably the alternator.
If the check engine or service engine light is on, the computer in the vehicle has detected a possible issue or issues affecting a performance or emissions malfunction. Ignoring your engine light can lead to expensive repairs. As soon as you notice your check engine light coming on it is a very good idea to address the issue sooner than later. There are several over the counter code readers on the market today as well as several places that will check it for you only to sell you parts that you may not need. There is no substitute for a professional mechanic in these matters. We carry all the necessary equipment and experience to give you an accurate diagnosis.
An up and down movement felt in the brake pedal can be two things, one to be expected, the other concerning. The anti lock brake system engaging on a wet road will normally cause pulsation in the brake pedal. Pulsation on a dry road should be cause for concern. This could be a warped rotor needing to be resurfaced or replaced.
Fill out the get a quote form and choose "I need a diagnostic service call". We will come to you and inspect your vehicle. We will then provide you with the recommended service(s) it will take to get you back on the road.
